Spa history

The High Tatras have always been a popular place not only for holidays, hiking and winter sports but also due to their healing effects. The Tatras became a name in connection with climatic spa mainly and clear Tatra air with a touch of conifers was used by people in the 19th century already because of positive effects.
In 1905, Grandhotel Praha was built in Tatranská Lomnica, being an elegant legend among Tatra hotels until today. The hotel underwent great changes in the winter of 2011, adding modern luxury to it and bringing a new era of spas back to the Tatras.

Concept of Grand Mountain Spa

The most beautiful jewel of this hotel treasure is represented by the new wellness centre called Grand Mountain Spa. It was the traditional local spa tradition connected with healing effects of the Tatra nature that inspired the philosophy of the new spa, where magical moments unite with beautiful nature. The concept of the spa is based on health benefits of conifers such as pines or dwarf pines, mountain herbs, sweet forest fruits and honey, or underground gifts such as salt or gems.
Take a deep breath of fragrant herbal oils and let your body find its balance again, enjoying flickering candle lights.

Spa facilities

Enjoy private moments in a traditional pool or whirlpool or set out for healthy life in our infra sauna, bio sauna, steam or Finnish sauna, all in a surprising, untypical style. Your mind will relax perfectly in a unique relaxation room with special relaxation beds and a fireplace in the middle, adding special atmosphere to the room. The therapeutic effect of this room is crowned by a ionization salt wall that neutralizes negative impacts of today´s rush world, has positive effects on our respiratory system and makes the skin look younger.
Staying in the external part of our wellness centre provides an extraordinary experience for all our visitors. Not only hardy fellows will enjoy our outer Finnish sauna, cooling pool, whirlpool or pool with an almost never-ending, tight surface and a breath-taking view of a beautiful valley stretching under the Lomnický Peak or sparkling stars of the night sky.
